PPSO Task Force Officer Chris Johnson Recognized by the Drug Enforcement Administration

Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich Jr. is proud to acknowledge Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) Task Force Officer Chris Johnson for being recognized by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) New Orleans Field Division.
DEA Group Supervisor, Special Agent William Ard, presented TFO Johnson with a "DEA Certificate of Appreciation" on February 1, 2021 at the PPSO Administration Building in Belle Chasse with Sheriff Turlich and Deputy Chief Lon Boudreaux in attendance along with several fellow members of PPSO.
TFO Johnson is being recognized by the DEA New Orleans Field Division for his investigative and enforcement efforts participating in a large drug trafficking organization investigation in the New Orleans area that has developed numerous targets and critical intelligence information. DEA New Orleans Field Office noted that despite the negative impact from the current pandemic, TFO Johnson has remained steadfast and committed to the ongoing investigation that includes several wiretaps that will undoubtedly improve the quality of life in Plaquemines Parish and the surrounding areas.
"Chris has always displayed a strong desire and passion for removing illegal narcotics from the streets of our community," said Sheriff Turlich. "Now assigned to the New Orleans DEA Task Force, he has the benefit of having additional resources and the opportunity to expand jurisdictional borders to better protect Plaquemines Parish."
TFO Johnson has been serving with PPSO since 2001 while being assigned to the DEA New Orleans Task Force for the past six years. PPSO congratulates TFO Johnson for his well-deserved recognition and continual service and dedication to Plaquemines Parish.
