PPSO Makes Arrest in Connection to Port Sulphur Homicide

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) is currently investigating a homicide that occurred earlier today in the area of Caroline Drive in Port Sulphur.
PPSO deputies responded to the report of a shooting and discovered a male victim with injuries consistent with gunshots. Plaquemines Parish Emergency Medical Services arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim has been identified as Billy Saunier, 40, of Port Sulphur, Louisiana.
During the course of the investigation, responding deputies and detectives were able to develop a suspect with the assistance of witnesses along with pertinent information gathered from the crime scene and search warrants. The suspect is currently detained by PPSO detectives and there isn't any danger to the public.
UPDATE: After securing an arrest warrant from the 25th Judicial Court, Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office detectives arrested Victor Battle, 20, in connection to the homicide of Billy Saunier that occurred earlier today in Port Sulphur.
Battle is being held at the Plaquemines Parish Detention Center, where he has been booked with Second Degree Murder.
